Well, looks like our BBQ operation is getting closer in Melbourne, Australia.
About to (finally) get keys to premises and hoping to open restaurant/bar serving barbecue, bourbon and beer end of February.
Having found the forum a wonderful resource so far for cue advice, thought should maybe see if it works for employment as well.
We're struggling to find a chef that fits the bill down under and wondering if there is anyone out there who might be interested in jumping on a plane to start a new adventure in Australia.
Would be full-time position, with good pay, salary dependent upon experience.
You must be able to run a kitchen in a 50 cover restaurant and deal with ordering, come up with daily specials, desserts etc. BBQ needs to be more than your hobby.
Because of the short timescale before opening, the successful candidate ideally needs to be eligible for a Australian working holiday visa (meaning you will need to be under 30 years).
Then we can change visa once person is set up in Melbourne. Help with accommodation, flights will be arranged.
Imagination, enthusiasm, hard work and talent are going to be vital. It's going to be a small team, small menu but with some big ambitions.
Oh, and you'll be barbecuing on a couple of Cookshack 260s. With a lot of grill work too.
you can email me resumes on nahamblen@yahoo.com
Cheers
Neil
