I used the Margarita recipe. Marinated for 2 hrs. Smoked to 180. Browned on grill. Tasted good. A little dry an chewy. Did I leave it in the smoker too long? Thanks
my .02 -- smoked to 180 then onto the grill? yes... too long. I like to do the breasts to 165 or so... the leg quarter needs a little more, but 180 is a lot, before hitting the grill, where it will cook further. I would try 165 then to the grill, if that's how you like em.
I agree with woodburner, with the exception that I would probably pull them out of the smoker at about 135-140 and throw them on the grill to crisp up and hit the 160* mark.
