So I have both a PG1000 and an Amerique. I am just curious to see what you guys think.
Everyone says the pellets don't put out the same amount of smoke that the wood chunks do. I understand that the Amerique(or all electric smokers for that matter) impart more of a smoke flavor due to the chunks of wood. I am curious, if pellets are wood just compressed together, why do they not impart the same strong smoke flavor?
Is it because of the way that the pellet smokers work and how they burn the pellets? My mind just started ticking and wondering why. Now say someone had the Amazen pellet smoker. Since this thing is not actually on fire, and seems to burn much more inefficiently, causing a TON more smoke, can this impart the same smoke flavor that an electric with wood chunks do?
