Hello everybody. First post here. I'm basically a backyard BBQer but all my friends tell me that I should go into business. I am thinking about it. But I will definitely start small --- I'm thinking a mobile trailer. How would the cookshack units perform in this capacity?

Basically I saw a guy set up in Charlotte gas station lot. He had a big truck with cookshack smokers built in ( plus others ). But I know that he started out with a trailer that he pulled behind his pickup truck.

I have so many questions, so few answers. Plus in the Philly area there really aren't many places that even sell Q, let alone make it their primary product.

If anybody can point me in a direction I would love to find out more. Thanks. Chuck

I would say that "it depends". If you have the power source, and the CS (one or more) is of sufficient size--you can whip anyone for taste, cost of production and ease of operation. If you must generate your own power, there is an additional cost, not excessive, and noise. Also take into consideration who will cook with it. The CS is just about as idiot proof as you can get-which may help control the cost of labor.

Thanks Hungry. The CS definitely seems like it would be better suited for a non mobile environment but since I haven't heard any bad things about it I thought it might be the way to go.

I see lots of trailers with smokers on the net but almost all are produced in the south and midwest. That means I can't check them out in person. Plus most of them want $400 - $500 just for shipping. on top of the $2500 - $5000 for the trailer / smoker...
