I see mention of a Cookshack Smokehood but cannot find that anywhere on the Cookshack Retail products site. What does it look like and how does it work? Is it just a stovepipe sort of arrangement?

If I install any Cookshack smoker I am gonna need some sort of ventilation hood I beleive. Any info on what is typically required (I know it depends on local zoning, ordinances and health department and fire marshall requirements) but most fire regulations and such are reflecting NFPA requirements now.

Any ideas here?

Preston,

Sorry we don't have the smokehood up on the website.

The Smokehood fits on top of your smoker and looks similar to a residental vent hood. It does come equiped with a grease filter. The hood has a small fan on it that needs to be piped to the outside.

I have not had any fire departments have problems with it. We have a study that shows that the smokers do not create grese laden air, that we can send to your local fire marshall if they need it.

Hope this helps, if not give me a call and I can send you a spec sheet on the Smokehood.
Thanks Stuart...

I am always thinking about starting up a place especially after a bad week at work. Just doing a lot of planning and research before I even consider it...

I know I will use Cookshack smokers probably 150 model cause of the high end temp of 300 F, the footprint, power requirements, venting and quality of the Cookshack family.
