Tonight I opened my free bottle of Cookshack Spicy barbecue sauce. I am astonished at the taste / quality. In my area, upstate NY, Dinosaur barbecue, seems to have a hold on the market for barbecue sauce. Dinosaur barbecue has nothing on cookshack's spicy barbecue sauce.

Have I not tried enough BBQ sauces or does cookshack really have a good product?

When I ordered my two FE100s, they each came with a gallon of spicey, but due to some mix up, I got 5 lbs of the spicey seasoning mix with each one instead of the brisket rub that was supposed to come with them. After tasting the spicey, I think I came out ahead on that deal.

I like it because it's not as sweet as the mild. I usually make up about 2½ gallons at a time, and I still over half of the first jar I opened left.

A 5 lb jar will make about 40 gallons of sauce. When you figure the cost of the sauce plus shipping, it's cheaper to buy the mix and get the other ingredients to make up your own.
We love the Sweet and Spicey Cookshack sauces. I just ordered 4 more gallons! We have gone through 4 gallons, 2 each, in the last year. I am interested in the Spicy mix. Does it require a lot of added ingredients?

p.s. the Rib, Chicken and Brisket rubs are outstanding also. If I keep this up, my first tatoo may be Cookshack Smiler

Heynow,

You have to add your own catsup, molasses, tomato sauce, worcestershire, vinegar, liquid smoke, water, brown sugaar salt, and Louisana hot sauce. It's simple enough to do, and the way my son goes through it, I couldn't afford the shipping if I bought it premixed. We go through about a gallon a month.

Thanks EZ. Sounds easy enough. I'll order some mix next time. I wonder why they don't offer the Sweet mix as well?
