As BigEGopher said, if you smoke a corned beef brisket, you'll get Pastrami. That's different than smoking a fresh brisket. It still great stuff, but different!
For the corned beef, soak it in several changes of cold water prior to smoking to reduce the saltiness (I would soak it for 24 hours), and then season it according to any of the sugestions in the posts here (don't use salt in the rub...). Then smoke it to aroung 190 degrees internal temp and slice it thin for sandwiches.
