I did. Made OJ Game Hens. Filled tomatopaste cans with OJ and stuck them as for Beer Can Chicken. Used the CS Spicy Chix Rub and put them at 250 for around 3 hours. I didn't take notes on this one. They were killer! Little buggers do beg for the CS treatment. Oh, I used only 2 oz. hickory. I basted with OJ mixed with melted butter and spicy brown mustard after about 2 1/2 hours and tested a leg to see how it was coming along. I was drinking adult beverages...so it could have been 4 hours! LOL! The OJ gave it incredible flavor. Especially the dark meat. Wink
You'll have to do the Leg Wiggle test, cuz I'm obviously not sure of the time, but they were fabulous! I used frozen concentrated made up. Oh, and I had garlic in the melted butter/mustard/orange juice baste.

I served this with Black Japonica Rice, which is so totally wonderful, if you haven't tried it, you must! I am not a big fan of rice, being Irish, the little white grains are dry, boring, maggot-like little chewy SOB's! So, I love exotic rices.

I also made whole roasted onions on the grill to go with this, basted with butter (tons!) and brushed with Maple Syrple at the last 20 minutes. This meal was made for Russ' boss, and redeemed me in his eyes. Too bad, he didn't redeem himself! Woman Hater Type.
Qdogg, how's the kid? I did the little game hens awhile back in a simple way. Split them down the breast with shears. Butterfly them out, powder them, and smoke them. They do very well this way. Kind of uniform size (thickness). Makes for even heat/cooking time. Fast, too. Acarriii
Well...Donna,

2 choices with this software. You can move an entire post including all the replies, but this one wasn't started by Andi, so the title wouldn't give here "credit". OR, you can create a new post (my suggestion) over in Recipes.

Our #1 recipe poster - Andi loves to post her recipes Big Grin deep inside posts and those fine recipes are hard to find with searches. That's why I'd suggest creating new posts. For example, I'd make a suggestion in this post that "I can post the recipe..."

Just trying to put recipes there. As this forum gets bigger and bigger, recipes that are inside of post may tend to not be seen.

Does that work Donna?

I'll just move this recipe to the "recipe" section (since I haven't created a recipe archive nor do I want one yet). I usually do "archiving" about once a month.

No worries, be happy!

Smokin'
