I have had my Polder dual thermometer for about a year and a half. Both leads have had the coating crack at multiple spots. My wife was wiping the one off and it came apart at the crack. After melting my first set in the grill, I learned not to put them in the grill and only use them in the smoker. We have only used them about a dozen times -- pretty few in my estimation. Has anybody else had this problem?

BTW: the new probles are $11 a piece while I bought a new complete digital thermometer with 2 probes for $22. It just burns me to have a good read-out with no probes, though. These Polders sure are not the quality of my Thermapen (but also no where near the price!).
