Does anyone have any tips for smoking a deer ham?
I was just given one and wanted to fix it in the smoker.
And yes I am being lazy on doing a search.

Uncle Earnie serves a lot of game ,as well as bbq, at his restauarant.
I think I saw that primative weapons season just opened in your neck o' the woods.
Seems like I saw someone a couple counties away took a record elk.
I wasn't aware they were harvesting the new elk herds yet.

The elk hunts are very limited. The state has a drawing for 10-15 elk tags that are given out at a lottery. People from all over the country have been entering the lottery.
The elk herds are establishing much quicker than they expexcted, I would bet that hunting will reallly open up in 5-10 years.
As for the deer, I'm too lazy to hunt but I cook what ever friends are willing to bring.
I smoked the deer ham yesterday. Injected withCreole butter, covered w bacon. It took about 7 hours to get to 155. It was good if you like venison.
