Hi
I just upgraded to the 360 model with hood.
Loaded up smoker with wood to season and was surprised that the front of the door was too hot to touch in certain areas. Is this normal?I own a 50 model also and never had a problem. This is a concern for me since I want to open a BBQ resturant and don't wan't any of my employees to get hurt.

I don't think a hot spot is normal, sounds like a gap in the internal insulation, but CS is the best to ask.

I would suggest a call to Customer Service.

They do not monitor this forum, so questions like that will get the quickest response by calling them.

Jlocantore,

What were you cooking in the unit when the door got hot and how long had you been cooking? Any thing around the smoker that produces heat? And where on the door was it hot?

It is unusual for the door on one of our smokers to get hot, however it can happen depending on the loading of the smoker and the airflow in the room.
