FEC 120 Convection Fan | Cookshack

Hello folks,

My FEC is about 7 months old now, and occasionally I would hear terrible noise from the convection fan. Resetting the smoker would stop the noise, but a different noise started last week, and I think the convection fan has finally given up.

Does anyone have any insight on the fan inside teh FEC120? Do I get at it from the bottom inside the smoker or the top by removing panels? Is this a fan that I can pickup locally at a supply house like grainger?

Of course this happens 3 days before I'm going to hawaii, and with a holiday in the middle.

Looks like the motor for the convection fan is going, when I take the grill off in the smoker and give it a spin it goes up and works great.

I had a problem also.If it sounds like a the fan is rubbing on metal . You can take the fan cover off the inside of smoker in the top of sealing.Losen the set screw on fan hud move fan up 1/4 to 3/8 inch.That cured me.
