Well, that's like asking which came first, the brisket or the pig?

Personally? I don't think it matters. But there are some electrical types that believe it does.

As 800W should work, but the question is what is it's peak? The only time you need the high wattage for the FE is when the Ignitor runs. It draws the most power. When it's not running, 800W is more than enough.

I've operated my two FEC's for over 5 years at contests without a sine way. I have a generator, but I normally just use it for backup. I use two Deep Cell Marine batteries hooked up to the Inv/Charger.

But I also believe in quality and don't go cheap, whichever route you chose. That FE is a great piece of equipment, but don't use a $12.95 inverter.

There is some great reading in here, so you might want to read a little, if you haven't.

Search in FE forums on "inverter"

I love the Triplite Inverter Charger I have. It runs both of my FE's and it charges the batteries also.
