I have My fec100 under a roof to keep it from the rain, but there are no walls. I live in NC. Will it hurt anything to leave it out in the elements for the winter? (electronics, wiring,seals, and the like)

Cookshack has a great cover for it.
You can leave the cover on while you cook.
Mine sets on an open porch,by the beach in a nightly salt storm and all during our rainy season.
Just keep your pellets dry.

I agree with tom. If you plan on leaving it out in the elements, I would get one of the covers to go over it. I would also empty the pellet hopper and run the augur until all pellets are out. This is a pain when you go to light it back up as you will have to let the augur get filled back up with pellets before it can actually light. I would let the FEC run for ten minutes and then restart it once the pellets have reached the burn pot.
I have a cover for it. It came with the smoker, and I do cook with it on. I was just wondering about the electronics and all. I suppose it will be alright. I did oil the fan shafts though.
