I have finally saved the money, and I'm ready to order my FEC100. Two out of the three large things (and expensive) that I have had delivered over a long distance have been damaged in shipment. It was a nightmare getting the things replaced. I was wondering if anyone has had there smoker damaged during shipment, and how hard was it to get it taken care of? How does Cookshack package the FEC100 for shipment? I am very excited about the FEC because I've been using a large wood burner, and having many sleepless nights. You guys have convinced me that the FEC is the way to go. I might even try a competition or two...

JRL,

My suggestion, just call Customer Service, they'll answer and actually give you the name.

If you read this forum at all, you'd notice that CS stands behind everything like few companies in America.

I can guarantee you, that if there's a problem, they'll take care of it.

Your new unit will be fine.
I received mine about two weeks ago. I noticed the bag of pallets was laying funny on the grates inside which caused one to bow a little. I am using the rack upside down to see if the heat and weight can straighten it out. I already mentioned it to customer service at CS and they offered to send a new one. I told them to hold off until I can see if it will fix itself.

I am impressed with how well they packaged it and how effortlessly it was to get it across country without any real damage.
JRL, Our FEC was delivered to the people who were putting our trailer together so it could be installed as the trailer was built. It had no damage at all, even with the people installing it, an extra set of hands that had no idea what to do with a smoker. They were very careful with it.
I'm very impressed with the service and back up that comes from Cookshack.

jrl,
ours was shipped by cookshack to our trailer builder. it went thru 2 hurricanes with no problems whatsoever.
to give you an idea of cookshacks service.
we explained that due to the hurricanes our rig was delayed by months (we were supposed to recieve it in the 1st week of july and got it in the last week of september) so our warranty was expiring prior to recieving our rig.
cookshacks response was tell us when you get your trailer and we will start the warranty then. i asked them if they would like me to fax a copy of the delievery papers and was told that isnt necessary.
so rest ez!!!!
cookshack and zippo lighters are the last great american companies!!!!!
jack
ps. and that was for both the fec and the sm150 lol
