FEC VS. STICK BURNERS

Seems like his experience level is from May of this year, when he got his WSM and found the smokering.

He says he just likes to fire up a good discussion.

I suppose when you can't cook,you still like to stir the pot.

Casting no aspersions on the fine WSM,since many of us have,and do still cook on them.

Thanks Russ. Unfortunately, I let my temper get the best of me on the Basso's forum thread. But maybe that is what he was trying to do in the first place and succeeded with me.

I didn't mean to slight the poor misguided soul,but he also had a Weber kettle,before his WSM.

The smoke ring forums seem to be down right now so I have to wait to reply.

Anyway.....I really don't see how the conversation ever gets past the results. It boggles my mind that great tasting Q should be banned in some people's eyes.

I think it all comes down to a want to win without the will to compete. It's much easier to beat someone's cooking if they are not allowed to compete with you.

Now comes a question. How many of the pellet cooker champions that are on this forum or those that you know ALREADY had BBQ championships and calls on offsets and other equipment before switching to pellets?

I'm betting quite a few. Sounds like the cook trumps the cooker every time. Why the hell would years be spent on creating rubs and marinades and then guarded like life savings if these things weren't truly more important when it comes to BBQ?

Well he was half right in his statement. The FEC truly is in a class by itself!

I always reply that the FEC is a stick burner. It's just that the sticks are much smaller!

With the way he's arguing...and at how I'm getting frustrated. I'm beginning to think the guy is somewhere around 15-23 years old.


It's the only age group that when properly armed with attitude and stupidity that I can't just have fun arguing with. I don't even want to fight them. Just shake them by the shoulders or maybe even the "Helloooo Mcfly!!" head knocking technique

I think Smokin just exposed the rookie.

Since we're on the internet a good "OWNED!!" would be in order.....or perhaps even a "PWNED!!".

If they outlaw Pellet Cookers, then they should outlaw all cookers that use Electricity.

On the other site, the arguement got real strange. But if your getting beaten at something then the other person must be cheating. I raced various sizes and types of cars the 24 years. And those that were getting beat always thought the winners had to be cheating.

Getting out performed on the track or in the kitchen or on a smoker just can't be possible. There for it has to be the equipment.
The guy doesn't like any item which has electricity or batteries. The would do away with a ton of items.

This was what happens in the winter,when folks sit around with a bottle and cabin fever and try to pick fights.

This clown had a kettle in the back yard and picked up a WSM a couple months ago.

He is now posting trying to learn to use it,remote therms,etc.

He never got beat,he just played with hisself.
