Iowa 80 5" chrome elbow. (about $85) (much cheaper on eBay)

eBay 5" x 24" chrome stack (about $34)

eBay 5" stainless steel lap joint. Can be bought flat or with the ridge in the middle of the clamp. I chose the ridge for exact matching of the two pipes. (about $12)

Vacu-stack high wind chimney cap came with my FEC when I bought it. Not sure of price but a quick look put it at least $100

Home Depot 5" galvanized duct cap was about $4

I wanted the stack for not having too much smoke in my face and in the comp area. In some conditions I will only use what I call the short stack.

When stored outside on the deck or in my outdoor shower stall with plywood over the top of the stall I will put a cap on the elbow to keep out the critters.

Looks great, sweet looking setup. It will be interesting to see if it cooks different between the tall and short stack. I like your ideas. Well done.

Did a single brisket practice witht eh full stack and cap and no issues...it was windy and bait cool (43 degrees)

right now I have two Butts on and it is 54 degrees with no wind..so far so good.
