I have a dedicated space I could put the FEC in my garage. I will need to vent it, as it will never move if/once it goes there. I have been reading all the "venting/Exhaust" posts that I can..Here is my main concern. My area is windy.. super windy! I have read a lot of posts saying that fires were started because of the wind. Is this something to be really concerned about??

I would do a T with a bottom cap with a hole drilled in it for grease flow (like a furnace), double wall, and a roof vent..

What else should I do??

Service does not regularly monitor this forum,so I'd call the office-rather than us guessing.

We,and folks in Ok/Ks cook in 30-40 mph winds and pouring rains, without problems.

We cook during tropical storms, allnight in 50-60 mph winds, and never consider it.

I'm sure if you did a search on wind, you'll find that Smokin' had heavy Ok wind blow into his exhaust and overloaded the firepot.

His other five years of constant cooking had no incident.

The other 100,000 cooks that year, that had zero problems,we logically did not report" yep,one more day and no problem"

Kinda like" yep,one more day with my Caddy Deville, and it works just like the other 1378 days, just thought I'd wake up and report"

Not to belittle the question, just trying to put it in perspective.

As we know, once one comment hits the internet,it becomes "the new fact for perpetuity" Eeker

Hope this helps a little.
