Fire at the end of the auger tube

Hi All,

Every once in a while, after start-up, I will notice that some of the pellets at the end of the auger are on fire. I guess that during start-up, the fire in the fire pot really gets going and the flames hit the pellets in the tube.

I have a newer FEC with the ramp and IQ4.

Not sure if it is an issue I should worry about or not.

Anyone else notice this?

Yup, seen it before.

It was more of an issue on the older, straight through models, that a strong wind could actually blow on the pellets and they burned back up the auger. That's why CS changed the design to the ramp.

It's only during the times where there is a roaring fire.
