Firepot falling apart - is this normal??

Eat time I fire up I vacuum before hand.
I always get a few little flakes of rusty metal but this is getting nuts - this seems wrong to me?
Anyone else have this issue and what should I do? The firepot walls may be getting pretty thin in places!
Unit is only 1.5 years old

It looks like maybe it was one of the cast iron versions. Have you called Cookshack? I bet they'll be happy to send you a new one,(just my guess after seeing others with the same one).

That's cast iron with too much humidity.

Call CS, this is the first I've heard of it in an FEC.

Cookshack will replace that firepot with a Stainless Steel Pot under warranty. Call Tony or Bill. It's an easy fix!

Will call them tomorrow morning and see if I can get a replacement sent.
Cal - isn't that what we are suppose to burn - may be that is why my ribs are always burnt

Best customer service ever!
Called, left message, got a message back "saw your picture on forum, sending new SS pot with new hot rod"
Cookshack even had my address on file and shipped it out no charge today!
WOW!
Impressed when my rep gave me a demo like no other and impressed once again!
