I did my first pork butt over the weekend. It turned out great a little dry though. I have a question about thermometers. Does anyone have a good method to check and see if your thermometer is calibrated correctly? I bought a digital one and I had a stick one. When I was doing my pork butt they both read differently, about 25 - 30 dregee difference. Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks

If you are at an altitude above sea level your thermometer should read less than 212 when placed in boiling water. follow the link below
to see what it should be according to your altitude. I also has an area for correction of the current barometric pressure for the particular day.

However when placed in a plastic cup full of crushed ice and water it should read 32. Some may not read as low as 32 though.
