For those of you that still smoke in sub-freezing temperatures, do the birds a favor. That pile of rendered fat that has congealed in the pan under your smoker is "suet" and the birds and other critters love it. Especialy with the cold weather & snow making it difficult for them to find food. Also, it's a good way to get rid of that stuff. Smiler

Here's what the vet said...by golly!

quote:
Depends, farm raised organic beef with no hormones and endocrine disruptors (pcb's, chlorinated pesticides). I don't think the smoke and sauces are a problem though.

You're making my mouth water.

Hey, I'm giving some talks at the Vet School next Wednesday. Will be free on Thursday and Thursday evening, leaving Friday - are you around????

Utah birds are gonna be ok! Whew.

Cool
After I saw the birds going NUTS over what I considered as garbage I, like Smokie, thought about how I could get some wild bird seed into the "mix". I'm not a "tree Hugger" but I was amazed at how many different species of birds were all over this "suet" and they're fun to watch!
I2..If the vet says it's a bad idea I'll stop immediately so keep us posted. Thanks.
