Is it possible or even advisable to freeze unused Brine??? say for use in smaller quantities at a later date?? (Note: I am asking about brine that has NOT had meat in it.)
I don't know about freezing but I always make brine in very large batches and keep in the fridge for long periods. I usually make a concentrate by using only half the water then dilute later when needed. We almost always have about 4 gallons worth in the fridge. I know I've kept it up to 6 weeks with no ill effects.
as long as you leave out items that can go rancid, you can store it in the fridge. Leave out any apple juice (it can go bad) and leave out any seasonings (garlic and such won't taste good a month later)
