I have a chance to get a good deal on Pork Butts.
I wondered would I be taking away much from the taste if I bought a bunch and froze them for later smoking?

i get my butts by the case frozen and they taste just fine when properly thawed and smoked.
as an idea to save wear and tear on your freezer just ask the meat manager if he still has some frozen ones in the back.

Do you think most of the bigger markets get their meat in frozen, then thaw it as they need it? I know turkeys and seafood is done that way, but I wasnt sure if beef & pork were as well.

I get my butts at Sams Club, 2 in a package. When they are really cheap, I will by several and freeze. I have never had a problem, but they do take 2-3 days to thaw.
Its like watching a pot come to boil isnt it Dave?
It seems like it takes forever. And some of us get impatient at an hour and a half per pound to Q the dern things. lol
