Ok, I have a question regarding finishing the ribs. I got the rub, smoking, and timing down now I want to take it another step.....glazing the ribs.

Now, when I smoke my ribs I hang them on the hooks. For me to take the ribs out of my smoker and apply the bbq sauce is just a pain in the butt. Do you guys apply the bbq sauce and re-hang them?

Would it be better to take them out when the ribs are finished and apply the bbq sauce when it's on the grill? If you finish it on the grill do you apply the bbq sauce, grill them for a bit, apply more bbq sauce and repeat this 3 or 4 times? Will this create a good glace on the ribs?

Another reason I'm not a rib hanger.

The glaze depends on your sauce. Some work well with one coat, others with 2 or 3, so you'll have to sort out how many.

I would take them out, glaze them and put them back in on racks. Hanging won't help except letting the glaze drip off Big Grin
I make my own bbq sauce and depending how I want the bbq sauce I will simmer the bbq sauce for about 10 minutes (after a 1 minute boil) which will give it a decent thickness (but not real thick).

I made some ribs over the weekend and glazed the ribs by coating it on both sides a couple of times (about 4 times) over my grill. I probably waited about a minute or two when I reapplied the bbq sauce.

I have to say it came out better than I expected it. The only difference I will do next time is make my bbq sauce thinner and apply it about 3 to 4 times again.
