Oh yes! I make it a point to stop here every time I go to Charleston SC. Great food and a great setting. Exit 98, turn right at top of ramp, go about 1 mile to State Park Rd. and turn right. Restaurant is about 1/4 mile on left. Buffet is about $7. They open at 11:00 every day.

Lone Star BBQ

When you finish and head back to the highway, go over the bridge and about a 1/4 mile beyond on the left is a Russell Stover candy outlet store. Even though I'm full of BBQ at this point I still stock up on treats for the long ride back home. Their bulk boxes and "seconds" are a great value. Big Grin

Just so you'll know, Smithfield's meat never sees smoke or wood. They cook shoulders (no rub)overnight on Hobart electric cookers, pull, then apply a liberal dusting of seasoning and vinegar. Meat is steamed in bulk before serving from steam table. Not saying it's bad, heck,I ate lunch there yesterday, but it's hard to get excited about their Q.
