A little trick I do for jerky to keep from using toothpicks. I took a coat hanger and made little "s" out of it .then I use The Kabob skwers and hang 8-10 pieces at a time off of the little "s" hooks that are hooked to the bottom of the rack.
If you have the room in the fridge you can hang them to cure that way also, then just pick up the Skwer and into the smoker.
