hanging ribs | Cookshack

I am doing a big batch of ribs in my cookshack for new years. It looks like I will need to hang them. Will I need to flip them upside down and rehook them halfway through? The bottom of the rack will be close to the heating element.

My buddy has a smokette and usually cuts the slabs in half and hangs them.

I think the best think to do is monitor them. Put the bigger ends towards the bottom as they'll take a little longer than the shorter.

If the ends closest to the heat are getting done too fast, just flip.

I don't hang mine, so all the above is just a guess.

If you are hanging your ribs in a smokette, you will need to cut the slabs so they are no longer then 10 1/2". Put the top rack on top of the top rack ledge giving you maximum length. Like the boys said, hang the smaller end @ the top. Good Luck.

I do ribs and never flip them over, I also hang them halved.
