The good news is: I saw a short piece on the Food Channel about a company that makes pig roasting boxes to do just what you want to do. The box came in three sizes and worked very well.
The bad news is: I can't for the life of me remember the name of the outfit, but it had concina (kitchen is Spanish) in the name and they were made in Florida. I'll try to get more info for you if your not into DYI.

But I always like to do things the hard way. Plus my wife might get a little peeved if I bring another Q item to our household.... I have a Smokette, a water smoker, a hibachi, and two gas grills.
If I could get one I might consider it, or I'll make one from scratch and save a lot of cash. But mostly the idea from the first post really appealed to me.

It was a 53 lb whole pig cut down into 2 whole hams,2 whole shoulders,and 2 full rib slabs.
After all the trimming,you could get it into a smokette.
When they got done,it was roasted pork from the oven,
which is a Cuban specialty.
