Hauling the FEC-100

Some folks put jacks under the end of the ramp,roll the FEC s out to the end and cook there.

We usually roll ours down the ramp,and position where we want them.

If you are by yourself,there is always a helping hand.

Well, where I need the cooker, i won't have enough room for a trailer most of the time.

How long is your ramp? And what type of trailer? (I haven't bought a trailer yet).

You can lay it down in the back of a pickup, seen that (just empty the pellets out or gravity will do it for you)

I've seen them in the smallest U-Haul trailer they make (ask Merl)

I have a 16' V nose with a full size ramp. I push it up and down the ramp by myself (takes practice) and sometimes after a long contest, I need a second person. Hardest part is getting it started but I added steel plates on the end of my ramp to make it easy.

Lots of options out there.

The weight stated for the FEC100 is the shipping weight. That also counted the crating, pellets, sauce and seasonings that came with the unit. It's more like around 275#.

Yep. I can load it into the back of my truck by myself. I have a piece of plywood that I lay it on and slide the whole thing in.

I picked up a 4' by 6' utilty trailer from Lowes and have used for three years now. I lay the FEC down on its back in the trailer and haul it all over the place. With my old pre-ramp FEC, I could pick it up by myself from the trailer. But the new IQ4 FEC is just a little bit heavier and a little different center of gravity so it requires two of us to pick it up. But there are always plenty of hands available at a comp.
