OK knowledge base, I need some help!

I have 12 pounds of Pork Butt (bone in) and 5 racks of baby back ribs to smoke, how many people should that serve if I serve pulled pork sandwiches and ribs?

I realize this is sort of a backwards way of asking the question, but my party tomorrow just gained 6 more people and I'm hoping I have enough food now! We'll have at least 2 sides as well as chips, etc.

Thanks all knowing ones!!

12 pound cooked will be "about" 6 pounds. 1/4 pound sandwiches equals 24 sandwiches. 1/3 equals 18 and 1/2 equals 12

Baby backs will be small, maybe 12 bones if you're lucky, but plan on 10. That's 50 ribs.

How good is your Q, will they love it? You'll need more.

Just have plenty of sides on hands and fill them up with that first, then sandwiches and ribs last.

Depends on ages of people, big eaters to little, men to women, etc.

And you didn't say, what are you cooking this in? If you're doing a CS, you'll need to do two batches.

Just two 2 butts ahead of time, and the ribs the day of. That will give you extra and you can pull them ahead of time so you can party with your friends.
Thanks Guys!

I'm thinking 25 people will be about it.

My "Q"" is AWESOME because I use a Cookshack (not because I'm a great cook!!)

I think I'm going with SmokinOkie's idea and fill em up with side dishes!!

I smoked the ribs on Sunday and the Butts are going in as soon as I get home from work tonight, probably not the most efficient way to do it, but that is sorta how it worked out given my time schedule!

Look for me on ESPN2 tomorrow night, I'll be at the Boise State game with a HUGE group of people with BBQ sauce all over the front of them!
Thanks Smokin, everything went great! I put the 2 butts in at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon and smoked them at 225 overnight, both were within my acceptable range by 10:30 Wed morning. That was a little earlier than I'd planned on, so I double foiled them and put them back into the smoker on the very lowest setting to just keep them warm. I headed out to the stadium about 12:30 so I wrapped them both in a beach towel (still foiled of course) and put them in a cooler. When I got aroung to pulling them at 4:30 both were still so hot inside that you couldn't keep your gloved hand in it very long!!

As I mentioned previously, I smoked 5 racks of ribs on Sunday, so I just tossed them on the grill and reheated with a light coating of sauce.

I had tons of compliments and many folks just stopping by to see why 20-30 people were standing in line!!

The pulled pork came out about right with all the side dishes, but I could have had another rack or 2 of ribs ready to go and I'm sure they would have been eaten as well!

The only thing I ran short on was beer as it is hard to gauge the amount of moochers you'll have stopping by for freebies!

Hope you all got a chance to see the Broncos throw a whoopin on Bowling Green, glad to see our defense finally show up to a game this year......

How about those Soo...uh, er, probably not a good subject huh Smokin?
