Naw...not this year. I moved to Florida last November. After a few months of traveling back and forth to Maine to finish my contract I retired July 1. I am in Florida full time now.
I judged at Lakeland's Pigfest last January and have applied to judge at Plant City's Pig Jam in November.
Last year was the first year for the Western Maine BBQ Festival. I judged two days...the NEBS comp on Saturday and KCBS comp on Sunday.
The judges "tent" was an air-conditioned function hall with bathrooms! Nice! No outdoor tents and porta-potties for the judges!
The organizers worked real hard and did a great job with this comp. If anyone is going to be in that area of Maine when the festival is held I suggest you stop by and check it out!
