I have a smokette and since I moved a few years ago it wasn't used until I decided to dig it out this year and clean it up. Reason for no use is I didn't have a place to put set it up outside, so I se it up in my garage. I picked up a 3" garage door port at work and installed it up higher than the smoker on a stand. I went to the hardware store and ended up with dryer vent tubes and an elbow.
Here is my issue the not all of the smoke goes out it comes out from under the vent tube over the vent in the smoker, I have tried allowing 3/4" to 1 1/2" above the smoker, I ended up cutting a 2 liter soda bottle and slipping it over the bottom of the tube, I use it almost to the top of the smoker it is lifted because of the thermostat probe wires going under it.
Smoke still comes out from under it, and then there is the whole condensation thing with it running all over the top of the smoker and down the sides making a mess everywhere.
Can anyone help me out with a solution?
I am thinking about trying to find a T to replace the elbow and mount a small fan on it pushing straight out the garage door port and hoping it would provide a vacuum effect to help draw everything up and out.
thanks
