Max is right about timing the walk to the turn-in. But you probably want to add on another minute or two and, if possible, have a second person to go along to clear a path for the box carrier. The crowds are massive on Saturday at the contest!

Also, make sure you get up to the JD store on the square as early as possible as a lot of stuff they sell for just the Invitational sells out very quickly. Especially the pins.

You will have a great time. I know Tom, the Team Mom and I had a great time when we cooked there as part of FireHouseBBQ back in 2007 I believe it was. And Tom took third in brisket for us!!!

Eddy taught us to take a couple wood pallets and go shop the feed stores for bales of straw.

Better already have a place to stay,as they are rare.

Our mentors advised cook as we usually do and enjoy the overall experience.

Lot of great teams from around the country and world to experience.Always helps to be lucky,as many,many great teams won't get a sniff.

When you go up the hill for the dinner,be sure you have good winter coats.Even all the Jack you can drink won't keep you warm. Wink
