Just received my Cookshack | Cookshack

I just received my Cookshack, and I can't wait to start smoking. But was a little disapointed in the "sample wood pack" that it came with. Since all the wood is mixed into on small box I can't tell which wood is which.

Is there any way to tell which wood is which, or am I just destine to have to order more wood so I know what I am smoking with.

One other question, when priming the cookshack, any suggestions as to what type of wood to use? Can I mix it? Or does it have to be one type of wood or another?

Just got mine as well. Am opening it now. Will see if mine is the same.

My box states "hickory" on the side, so I assume that it's all hickory.

Question; what is the manufacture date on the back of your smokette? thx

Basically any hardwood will be fine to season it.

It is usually hickory,but a call to sales should answer that.
