Large ZipLock style bags for marinade ?

Hi All,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a large ZipLock style plastic food bag which would be good for use in marinading?

I'm contemplating smoking my very first brisket on my new SM009, and wish to marinade it first. I realize that the readily available one-gallon ZipLock plastic bags will not be large enough to hold a sizeable packer-cut brisket.

Most stores have the even larger 2.5gal Ziploc bags. Those will work well. It's what I use.

I guess I'll have to look a little harder: At the stores I've searched so far, the Ziplock bags max out at the one-gallon size.

I have used the two gal Ziploc bags but then found that the Albertsons store here had their own store brand of 2 gal bags at a much less expensive price. Make sure you check the house brands. If they don't stock the bigger size, ask the store manager if they make one and to get it in if they do.

Wal-marts around here sell the 2.5 gallon Hefty brand bags. They weren't the freezer style, but they were strong enough to brine turkey breasts in them.
