Meat probe Jack PV535

While removing the meat probe from the Control Module of my SM066 Amerique for cleanup a funny thing happened. The jack assembly came apart and slipped inside the hole in the Control Module. I unscrewed the 8 screws holding the Control Module to the top of the unit but it won't easily separate. I don't want to pry it off for fear I may damage the unit. Has anyone experienced a problem of this nature? Does anyone have any tips to remove the Control Module? I have a back-up temperature probe but am dismayed that my Control Module looks unprofessionally done...

Tom, I think you take the back off the smoker to gain access to the back of the control panel. Sounds like the nut, that should be on the outside, of the jack assy came off where the jack assy pushed inside the hole.

if you have the newer style sm066 with the black plastic control module, it's only held on by the 8 screws squeezing a rubber gasket. most likely, the gasket's got some sticktion going.

some gentle persuasion should cause it to unstick.
