"Team Potentially Hazardous" will debut at Claremore, Ok at the Boots and BBQ Cookoff. Now if we can remember to turn in all four meats, then we will exceed our expectations. (Just kidding). We will be the made in Oklahoma team cooking on an FEC and a Hasty Bake, with some kind of Head Country product hidden away. We will have fun, but the only true expectation is that some team gets so drunk they will be "DAL" and save Team Potentially Hazardous.

Come and visit us.
Carol and Merl
Team Potentially Dangerous did themselves proud this weekend. Got a call in Pork and a perfect 180 in Dessert (Carol, you never DID give out samples).

Fun to see Merl out working all night, lots of stories to tell, including the group's attempt to "help" Merl enjoy his first contest.

If you come out again Merl, no U-Haul trailers.

Congrats!
A great weekend. Carol and I took on our first cook. You should have seen our faces when we got our first call in Pork. Then a 180 in dessert. OK if this was the accademy awards:
We want to thank Cookshack for the great FEC, Russ, Mike, David, and so many other for tips, encouragement and drinks, Eddy and Paul for a great cooking class and of course all of our competition friends who called in with encouragement.

We had a blast, CCR played on Friday night, horse racing to watch as we made our turn in boxes, great organizer, great friends, and great competition.

The FEC purred all night long and put out some great product. Wearing the FE?cookshack cooking class apron, lots of folks stopped to see the FEC. It was fun to show it off.

Oh yes and that judge who cheated me with a 6 when I deserved a seven and kept me out of the top ten, (10-12 th place .0006 difference) I just could not pass up a judging complaint.

Thank to all
Merl

Congrats.

ACTUALLY Tom, I got calls in Ribs, Pork and Brisket and missed RGC by .5714, thanks for asking (It was Merl's thread so I didn't want to detract from his success)

Worst chicken score of 3 years, otherwise, I might have GC. Oh well...grrrr

I sat next to Merl at the Cookshack Cooking Class and just knew I was witnessing the evolution of a true future championship cooker. He was so detail oriented, he was focused, he was ... ah, did you say his wife, Carol, was on the team with him. Oh, that explains why they did so great the first time out.
