BIG contest with 86 pro teams, BEAUTIFUL weather, great contest site (5 acres of fairground with 30 amp service and good water pressure), GREAT party on Thursday night, lots of FE's there.

Just to name a few of the KCBS big hitters that were there.....

Smokin Triggers
Lotta Bull
Bar-B-Quau
Big Bob Gibson's
Buttrub.com
Music City Pigpals
2 Fat Larrys
Throw Down Cookers (from Houston)
Jack's Old South
Bill & the Dixie Chicks
Paradise Ridge
Late Night Whiskey Smokers
Blindog's Outlaw Gang
Piggin and Grinnin
and several other regular winners on the circuit

Here are the top five in each catagory. The top 15 in each were paid out. (a first for me)

Also awarded was the Alabama Triple Crown, which is awarded to the team with the highest combined scores of the Huntsville, Decatur, and Mobile contest. This contest was the ending leg of the current one and the beginning leg of the next one. The trophy rotates around to the three different contest where it is awarded. Going in to the contest, Lotta Bull was in the lead, followed by Buttrub.com and Whoop-de-Que.

I(Whoop-de-Que) was fortunate to have overcome a 34 point deficit to win the Alabama Triple Crown. It was as exciting as any contest that I've ever won. Thanks goes out the the FE!!!

Thanks guys, I feel very fortunate. I haven't been intimidated at a contest in quite a while, but the list of who's who in Mobile was a little insane. I really like the big contest like Mobile, Tryon, and others. It makes winning all the better.

I know it's more the cook than the cooker, but I can honestly say I couldn't have done it without the FE.
Thanks, Fred. Wish you & Mike had've been there to catch me when I fell this time. My step off the back of my trailer kicked me off it Friday afternoon, spraining my ankle. Cooking a contest wounded is no fun, but probably a good lesson in "focus!"

Hey, looking at the top 5 in categories above...I only know two FE's used. Troy's and EJ's. Be interesting to look on down the list to tract FE performance.
