modding a FEC100

I tryed and search for and mods people did to the FEC100 before I posted this, but I was curious if people did this??

and it it normal for after a smoke that there is alot of pellets left in the bowl? I am use to a Traeger 124 that only needs cleaned once a month.

Lots of people add vents. No, I don't normally get a lot of pellets left unless I have turned the temp up and it starts throwing pellets out then immediately shut it off. The IQ will be very different than the traeger controller, do you have the IQ?

IQ just have the fancy electronic red control panel. Non-IQ, have a traeger dial

Oh, and you might also hear us talking about pre-ramp vs ramp models (yours has a ramp)

That is exactly the way my exhaust is set up. I get pellets on the floor, but not left in the pot. I still vac out the pot before every use because it seems to come up to temp faster if I do.

It is a truly great resource,and newer folks don't really know about it.

Also,we'll all jump in and ,sometimes ,take the thread far away from the info that was first sought.

Lots of times ,folks will see a more informative answer in the search, than they thought to ask in their question.

That's a good thing.

But,we are always happy to try and get folks where they are going.

I put a "hat" on the top of my vent. We had 6 inches of rain last thursday in 5 hours....glad the "hat" was on. Did'nt have any water inside my 100
