for me it all depends on what is cooking at the time
for beef brisket i find that any house or jungle techno music works well but for really tough ones i find the ring cycle by wagner to soften them up really well. that and repeating to the brisket "arbecht macht frie" while seigfried's death march is playing does the trick too!! the really hard cases will require the aplication of the xena warrior princess cd.
for pork butts i like bb king freddy king and clapton the best
for ribs david allen coe or goerge jones works good
for chicken ya got me. i leave the rig when peggy does her chicken. knowing her it is bach or mozart or beethoven

Lois Prima is probably most famous for his Vegas swinging days....but I got really into him because of the work he did with Disney. He is voice on I Want to be Like You from the Jungle Book. You know where Baloo the bear and "King Louie" the orangutan are dancing like crazy....that's him. Let me dig up an MP3 or two and send it your way.

I don't know much abou talternative music. I guess I am old enough to think it is something I woudln't go for but then again I like some kinds of music most people my age don't.
Commish, I would appreciate it!
I have been listening to the cuts Mainely dave has on his site and on the Ring of Fire link
When I'm prepping chicken, I like bluegrass. When I'm plating chicken, I like silence.

Other than that, I love any music. My daughter and I went to Warped Tour a few years ago, so I like Green Day a lot. I like Weezer and Jayne's Addiction. I like Drop Kick Murphy's.

I absolutely think the Gypsy Kings are great with BBQ if you want happy, relaxing. Salsa music. I like steel drums, too. A lot of Jimmy Buffett gives you the feeling, too.

Blues are great. My favorite I guess is "Riding with the King". Eric Clapton and BBKing.

No, Jack, I don't listen to classical while I'm doing BBQ.

Showtunes can be good, check out "Ain't Misbehavin", or "South Pacific".

I guess my favorite is bluegrass. I tend to go for Allison Krause and Doc Watson and Ricky Skaggs.
Peggy
