My controller seems to be working fine but being in the habit of spending money on this hobby...should I upgrade to the new controller? I already have the digital controller from last July.

Also, I have had to manually start fires in my FEC100 since about day one. Is there any reason for me to get the ignitor replaced other than conveinence? I can continue to manually start the fire but it is such a pain.

Most don't bother to replace the ignitor, but all of ours have worked fine ,since day one.

We carry green gel for comps, but on four units over the years,we have never needed it.

We have adjusted to our controllers, although we have an assortment of spares.

Once we quit thinking "what if",we never think about them.

If it ain't broke we don't fix it.

If it's a pain, why not fix it? Seems like if it was broken when you got it, they'd send you a new one. Say you bought a new car, spent a lot of money on it, but the only way you could turn the headlights on and off was by manually connecting and disconnecting a wire from the battery to the headlights. Would you keep on fooling with the wire, or get it fixed?
I would certainly fix it! One of the things I have loved about my FE is the ability to turn on the switch and go back to working on the meat.

Mine has been bullet proof from day one. Twenty three hour road trips bouncing along behind the Excursion and 30-40 straight burns.

Fix it and love it even more!
