Yes,but the cover will be the best money you ever spent.

You can cook in 30mph wind and pouring rain ,24/7.

Never remove it,even trailering it.

Next best tip is ,there is no book.

Read all the FEC forums,and copy the good stuff.

It is everything we all know,and priceless.

After you do this,your questions will make sense,and we can answer them.

You "could" leave it out, but I wouldn't. It'll keep the smoker cleaner and water away from the pellets. You don't want to have to do a search on "pellet crete".

I also, on the one I leave out, put a cap over the end to keep rain or stuff blowing into the vent opening.

Mine has been on my deck for two years, most of the time under a cover, and it works great. I do recommend the cover. The thing is just too darn expensive to let it sit out in the rain!

Mine has been kept on my side porch right off the kitchen for five years without any problems. I have a new cover still in the bag. I have never put it on. I never had a problem with pellets either, even during our rainy season.

Yep,but hearing from the guys that disassembled,drilled out pelletcrete,put it back together,for $100 cover,made me a believer.

I have seen moisture creep, on garage floors,triple the size of a 40 lb bag,and turn it solid.

Down here, it is like buying a generator,to keep the big one away.

If it don't come-it paid for itself.

Mine sets outside and in the garage. I like the cover because the outside can get very hot to the touch...not because of smoking...because the sun looooooooves to heat up the stainless steel.

Yep,you'd think that stainless would just reflect,but the Fl sun can warm it right up.
