Just got my new SM 045 that will eventually replace my old 009. Just waiting for it to stop raining and snowing so I can get it seasoned.

Congrats, I love my 040 same as yours but has the black exterior.
First: I did 2 14 pound turkeys in the new 045 yesterday, and they both turned out great. I did have a scare about 45 minutes into starting the smoker. There was a huge explosion type noise from the area of the smoker (I was in the house). I checked the turkey, and it was fine. I ran a streight edge around the inside of the smoker today, and it is streight and square. I have no idea what the explosion noise was. Now the big question? What is the difference between the SM 025 and the SM 045 other than one is 4" or so taller than the other? I thought it was a programable meat probe, but now I don't know.
I am likeing this new SM-045 better all the time. I called Cookshack before I bought it to see if any of the options I had for the 009 would fit the new smoker. They said that nothing would cross over to the SM-045. I just pulled the side racks out of the 009 and the SM-45. They are the same size. I can now use my old 5 slot racks in the new smoker.
