New Stove for Kitchen-somewhat off topic

I'm not a great cook, don't do much baking, but I do like to use the Oven on occasion and I do alot of stir frying and other activities on the cook surface, i.e. making BBQ sauce.

I have an GE Electric basic 30" unit, want to move to gas. Doubt if I need a Convection Oven, but definitely want the gas burners.

There are some good basic Gas units priced from 500-800 bucks, GE, Hotpoint, Frigidaire, etc.

You guys have any thoughts, I'd appreciate them.

well, making it a discussion about the proper stove to cook BBQ Sauce is just a BIT of a stretch...
