Loaded up with butts last night everything was working fine so i went to bed, got up this morning and temp at 75, checked everything out to see what went wrong and couldn't see a problem. The pot was empty and they auger was turning but still no pellets were coming out. I emptied the hopper and to see if something was blocking the auger entrance but didn't see anything in the way put a cup of pellets in turned on the unit and started working fine. Has anyone had this happen to them before? Thanks, Ken

CB,

Whenever I cook a load of butts on my FEC, I always use a Maverick remote therm with the smoker probe inside the smoker. I set a high and low range on the Maverick and go to bed. No smoker is perfect so why tempt fate. I am very pleased to say that the FEC has never woken me up for going outside the temp range. Another reason why I love my FEC.

Just a thought for next time.
Had fire and was running for about 15 min when i left to get some sleep... put them in around 2:00 am got up and checked them around 6:00am I cleaned the fire pot and started over and all was well. Cooked to 200 and pulled them, let them cool and vacuum sealed, was a little concerned if I should use them I can't tell when the fire went out, they were still a little frozen when checked. Any thoughts on this would be great. Thanks, Ken
