In prepping for the game on Sunday, went to Sam's and got a pack of Smithfield Pork Loin Back Ribs- 7.92lbs for a pack of three racks. Pull them out to clean and remove membrane (yes I am an advocate) and much to my surprise- there was no membrane. In my 15 years of buying ribs, I have never seen any sold without the membrane. Not that I actually enjoy the process of removing but made me wonder- has anyone experienced this?

BTW- menu for the game: 3 racks of BBs, 8lb smoked beef rib roast sliced thin for sandwiches, 5lbs of chicken wings- grilled with various sauces, and a pork picnic- browned on the grill, stabbed with garlic and rubbed with adobo and then wrapped in a banana leaf and cooked in the oven for 9 hours. And oh yeah- some sides.

I bought a three pack last week from Costco that had the membrane removed (Swift and Company). Not sure if thats going to be the norm as in the past the membrane has been attached. So that was my first and like an idiot I wasted time to find and remove something that was not there. All I had to do was rub, wrap and toss in the freg for the night. Can’t complain it just temporally through me off.
