It is one of those Main Street affairs.

There is a wide grassy ,tree lined divider between the main drags.

There is usually a large antique & custom car show in the medians.

Also crafts fair,etc.

If she drives down thru the middle of town,we are set up on a large corner field-right on the main drag.

Chicken turnins start at 11AM and the "Peoples'Choice" sampling usually goes off about that time.

They can eat their fill of all the teams' pork at that.

There are something over 30 pro teams,so far,and they always have a group of vendors,as well.

Shouldn't be hard to spot.
It's on SE 3rd Ave. on a property owned by the American Legion #64. next to the city hall and across from Mcdonalds on 70E. That's the directions I got. If you have any questions call Terry Burroughs with Okeechobee Main Street, 863-697-6325.

Bob, tell your daughter to look for a white trailer with red greyhounds, parked funny. We'll give her and her friends any treats we have after turn-in.

Peggy
bob,
1st off it was a treat to meet your daughter and her friend and we sure were glad to feed them Big Grin .
as far as the contest it's self it was very well organized and the inches of rain that fell on us friday night was certainly a treat Mad
while we didn't win in the 4 competition meats we were certainly happy and suprised to win the peoples choice award (along with a nice amount of money) for our pulled pork. from what we saw we appeared to be the only pellet munchers there out of 28 pro teams.
so all in all it was a great weekend and i got to learn to tow the rig in heavy rain and high winds.
jack
ps. we were slotted in next to jack's old south bbq and myron and david are the funniest guys you will ever meet Big Grin
Bob,
You're daughter is a real sweetie! The sauce they had was our "MooseKick". It's a little spicy. What we used on Peoples Choice was the "Corvette Red". We had a great time. Thank heaven the skies cleared long enough for the competition. Saturday was a beautiful day for us. Jack will send you the recipe for "moosekick". I think they went home with full bellies and leftovers. She and her friend made our day!
And how's the corn heater working?
Peggy
