Old wooden cutting board for smoke??

I have an older (well not old, but useless now since it's shattered in two)...

it is made of 100% Canadian Maple, I was wondering if it could be used as maple smoking wood ?

With all the veggies it cutted, it must be flavored now ?? (joke)

or should I just toss it in the firepit ?

I clean my cutting boards with bleach. Has it ever been cleaned with bleach? If so, I would not use it for smoking. Other cleaning solutions would also likely seep down into it. I don't know man.

I would think if it is made the way most are the glue holding it together would be an issue.

Frank,

No real good French cook would use that wood.

I know you have plenty of good smoking wood in Quebec that is just waiting to be cut and used to make good BBQ. What about them apple trees?

I toss it in the garbage...I was just wondering!!

Should I understand that (sugar) maple is not a good smoking wood ?

Apple is quite abundant here!!...next time I pass by an orchard, I will pick up 2-3 logs!!
