My Fast Eddy arrived yesterday...I'm apprehensive and excited at the same time. All of the research I've done pointed me this way.
The few things that I don't like about cooking with wood seem to be adressed with the FEC 100. Perhaps most importantly, not getting up at 0500. I also never liked the way I would watch all my moisture escaping out the stack of my stick smoker.
Even still, this is such a change...I feel like Everett on 'O Brother where Art Thou' switching from his beloved Dapper Dan to that "other" pomade (I'm a Bandera man, GD it !! I don't want that other smoker)
I'm the 'GO TOO' guy around here for BBQ, and it will hopefully stay that way.

One other thing...my door was damaged in transit, and is quite bent. I'm waiting for a call back from Cookshack. I'll need a new door..the other damage(bent hinge, scratches) I can deal with. Curious to see how cust service runs with this outfit...

I see that there are pellet sources on this forum, which eases my mind as well.

I spoke with Tony right after I posted. So far so good. I wish the factory and the shipper would work it out, though, instead of the customer having to do all the paperwork re the claim. Seems a bit much...
I also told Tony that I thought the product should be crated, not just wrapped in cardboard. These shippers like to see who can bounce stuff the highest.
I know they try to keep the shipping costs down but I do think that they could protect the top a little better. The damage on my cooker wasn't noticeable until after we took the cardboard off. They had to have hit it with something awful hard to put a dent where they did. Maybe extend the wood crating up to cover the top as well?

Cookshack could put fragile on them but all that does is give the delivery people more incentive to screw it up. ; )
